I never heard this one till really about a week ago and I actually listened to the whole song on YT and it just hit me so hard I thought I had to try singing it. My wife told me long ago that A Star Is Born is her fav movie and yet we never watched it together in 2 years and I'm not sure why. Maybe I didn't seem interested due to the fact I wasn't any big Lady Gaga fan or a fan of love stories that much but..... I found a backing track on YT (not a well-encoded one, you can hear it warbling in the intro) and listened enough to get the basic gist but mine isn't exactly the same and it's in a male key this time. I sang it twice and used the 2nd take as the main take with a couple of punch ins and one or two pieces of the orig take. I used a lot of "effects" to try and make it sound good. Wish I felt like typing them all out and explaining but it's the same chain I usually use. Pitch (+2), auto-tune (40%), two compressors in a row, multiband compression, eq to soften the mids and boost a hair of 8K give or take and de-essing quite a bit which keeps the entire top end tamed even if you're singing creates more of it. Just like compressing a narrow band of frequencies basically. I could add another multiband comp to de-ess but there's a plugin just for it. then procedural reverb at the end (arts acoustic reverb). Hope you like my version! I don't always mention but you can always show your "tangible" support at www.patreon.com/truthsurge if you enjoy my vids past and present. Thank you all for your kind comments.
