Bon Jovi - Lay Your Hands On Me - cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
My next Bon Jovi cover in the lineup is "Lay Your Hands on Me".
It was the fourth single off their album New Jersey and made it to number 7 on Billboard Hot 100.
Live performances of the song were used for the music video which included footage from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA and the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon.
When performing the song live in the 80s and 90s, Richie Sambora used a double neck guitar with one neck tuned to drop D and the other tuned normally.
After hearing the song and thinking it would be a good Gospel song, country singer Dolly Parton contacted Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora at one point thinking the tune would be a good gospel song. She was given permission and used it for her album, Blue Smoke. Dolly and Richie even performed her cover together at Glastonbury in 2014.
I'll be taking on the song in the traditional style of Bon Jovi with my own spin. Check out my performance and let me know what you thought!
