Led Zeppelin - Black Dog - cover - Kati Cher - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Today’s performance features Kati Cher taking on one of the most instantly recognizable Led Zeppelin tunes: “ Black Dog”.
The song was featured as the lead track off of their fourth album and uses start and stop a capella verses which were apparently inspired by the Fleetwood Mac song “Oh Well”.
The title of the tune came from a random black lab that was hanging around the studio when they were recording.
Though it was not released as a single in the UK, it was in multiple other countries including the US where it reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song has gone on to be ranked by Rolling Stone as one of their “500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and was frequently played by the band in their live performances.
We hope you enjoy Kati’s version of the classic tune and please let us know what you thought of her performance!
